A trip in February to Awera Island to see the progress of construction:

Exciting times! Construction is well underway with the bar now complete (to help the construction crew’s morale) and the other main structures are progressing well. The seafront design has been confirmed to include a wave-shaped sea wall which is not only a more attractive looking piece of infrastructure, but will also help to soften the impact of the waves helping it last longer. The undulating frontage will also house day-beds to make the most of the views and tranquil location. Construction supervisor David Thomas and project foreman Andrew Faulks were very happy with the progress so far and were appreciative of the enthusiasm from the local workers that have become an integral part of the project.
